25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hello and welcome back. Today I am taking part in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags hosted by my awesome friend Tracey McNeely

I'm sharing a tag along with Muse Christmas Visions who are the sponsors for today!

For my tag today I used two stamp sets from Hero Arts - the Poster Christmas Carols (one of my favourite holiday sentiment sets this year!) and the Winter Time Fun stamp set. I wanted to create a little winter scene with falling snow on the entire tag including the top of the sentiment.

I stamped out the scene on a white tag I diecut with the Neat and Tangled Classic Tag die and then I added my sentiment in the open area near the top. I coloured it all in with Copic markers and used a white gel pen to add the snow detail. I added a silver tag in behind it and then I added some fun red ribbon so it can be tied to a gift.

Make sure to visit Tracey's blog to see more tags from today's sponsor and to enter the giveaway!

My Favorite Things November Release Replay

Hello and welcome back! In today's post, I'm sharing a card that I created using products from the November release from My Favorite Things. I love the new Deer Love Die-namics and knew I wanted to use them together on a card with a heart in the background.

After I die cut the white heart, I actually embossed it with the Abstract stencil, but the textured detail doesn't show in the photos. Using a stencil to emboss a card stock piece is a great way to add subtle dimension.

I die cut the heart from a white panel that I had die cut with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, and then I adhered the panel onto a red card base. Before adding the embossed white heart, I glued 3 red hearts (one on top of the other) inside the die cut opening to add some dimension with a bit of red showing from underneath.

I die cut both of the deer and the antlers from white card stock, and then I used Copic markers to colour them both. I added white dot detail to their backs with a white gel pen, and then I adhered them both to the heart.

I added red gems to their noses and used a black marker to colour in their eyes. I finished the card by stamping the sentiment from the Deer Friends stamp set under the focal images with black ink.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas from the design team using the new November products.

My Favorite Things November Release | New Product Launch!

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things November release party! All of the products we've been sharing online all week are now available in the MFT Stamps online store.

For my project tonight I decided to create some gift card envelopes using the Gift Card Envelope Die-namics and the super cute deer image from the new Friends in the Forest stamp set. He is the perfect reindeer for a bright red Rudolph nose. :)

I created a simple background with come chevron patterned paper from the Calm & Cozy paper pad cut from a stitched rectangle and then I added a silver glitter and white snow hill to the bottom. I stamped and coloured the deer and die cut him with the coordinating die.

I stamped a sentiment from the Deer Friends stamp set onto a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strip, and then I adhered that to the top of the background panel.

I die cut the gift card envelope from Kraft card stock and added a piece of red card stock before adding on the embellished panel. I completed the design by adding a large red gem onto the nose to make the reindeer look like Rudolph.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using all of the new products and for a chance at some of the new release giveaways!

My Favorite Things November Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things November release countdown. All of the new products that we've been sharing all week will be available tonight at 9pm EST!

For my card today I wanted to use the big Peace word to create a sentiment in a winter scene and have it blend into the background. I love doing that with large sentiments like this. I really wish I could get a better photo of it... it looks so pretty and peaceful in real life. :)

I really wanted to use the light post in the design but the sentiment and the light wouldn't both fit on a regular A2 sized card so I had to go a bit bigger so everything would fit.

I created the entire background with Copic markers, added the light post with liquid adhesive and then I die cut the word peace from the bottom and expanded on the sentiment using the Dashing Deer stamp set.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see the rest of the products being revealed today and to see more ideas from the design team using the new stamps and dies. The November release will be available tonight at 9pm EST!

See you then for the release party! :)

My Favorite Things November Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things November release countdown. For my card today I decided to create another Copic winter scene using the new Friends in the Forest stamp set. Lately, I've been wanting to use my Copic markers to practice scenes and different backgrounds with my stamped images.

Today's card is based off a winter scene I learned in Sandy Allnock's Winter Wonderland class - this is a great class to get Copic confidence if you lack it like I was LOL! :)

I stamped my deer and fox image first, and then I created the scene around them. And the images I stamped were masking gone wrong LOL! I didn't realize until I had already coloured the whole scene and started to colour the animals that I didn't stamp the fox low enough, so it looks like his behind is floating in space haha!

I also made my pine tree a lot bigger than I intended and my other tree just looks.... odd. :) But I finished the card, and I love it regardless. ;)

I decided to make my deer Rudolph and gave him a red nose, and then I stamped a sentiment from the Dashing Deer stamp set onto a sentiment banner and added it to the bottom of the card.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see the rest of the products being revealed today and to see more ideas from the design team using the new stamps and dies. The November release will be available on November 7th at 9pm EST!

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :)

My Favorite Things November Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things November release countdown. Today we're introducing the newest Birdie Brown set called New Best Friend - an amazing set featuring two adorable girl images, each holding a dog.

As much as I love the dogs that the girls are holding, I wanted to experiment and see how it would look to deconstruct the image and have the girl hold something other than a dog. So I stamped her out, coloured her in and then carefully cut her out with my scissors making sure to cut out the dog image.

I also stamped a Christmas tree from the Jingle All the Way stamp set, coloured it and also cut it out with my scissors. I cut the arm part of the image so I was able to tuck the tree underneath, and then I strategically placed it so it would cover the part of her face and sweater where the dog images was.

I created a Copic scene in the background so it would look like she was out in the woods picking out her Christmas tree and I made sure to colour her in holiday colours so I could make it a holiday-themed card.

I finished the card by adding snow detail all over the background and girl images and then I added a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set stamped onto a white banner. I love how it looks layered over the moon.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see the rest of the products being revealed today and to see more ideas from the design team using the new stamps and dies. The November release will be available on November 7th at 9pm EST!
See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :)

My Favorite Things November Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things November release countdown. We have some really great winter themed products this month as well as new stamps and dies featuring one of my favourite things in the world... coffee! :)

Today we're kicking things off with two super cute winter stamp sets and some gorgeous mandala stamps and dies. My cards today feature the new Mesmerizing Mandala Die-namics - a gorgeous die that works as a snowflake on a holiday card!

I created two inked panels using Distress inks, and then I cut the mandala's from them to create the two snowflakes that I featured on my cards. For one of them I combined Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry for a multicolour look and the second one I did completely pink and let it fade a little lighter around the outside edge.

Once I had the snowflakes created, I diecut the mandala shape from the front of a white and black card base and backed the openings with Silver Sparkle card stock. I then adhered the die cut pieces into the opening so they would be inlaid into the card front with the silver sparkle showing through.

I finished both cards with a sentiment strip across the center of the snowflake and then I added some jewels to the snowflakes for added sparkle and dimension.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see the rest of the products being revealed today and to see more ideas from the design team using the new stamps and dies. The November release will be available on November 7th at 9pm EST!

See you tomorrow for more countodwn fun! :)

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 357

Hello and welcome back. Today I have a card to share for the newest sketch challenge for My Favorite Things. I love having a sketch to start from on a card... they provide a great foundation for the overall design.

For my card today I used the Merry Everything stamp set and created a holiday themed card based on the sketch.

I created a patterned paper background to add some detail to the card and then I layered a fishtail banner and stamped Santa image on top. I added the sentiment under the Santa and finished the card with some clear sequins to add a bit of dimension.

You can take part in this week's sketch challenge HERE. Every week a randomly chosen winner wins a $50 GC to the MFT online store!

My Favorite Things Color Challenge 80

Hello and welcome to the newest Color Challenge for My Favorite Things. This weeks color challenge features one of my favourite coloir combinations - green, pink and aqua with some yellow added to the mix.

I decided to create a Halloween card since it's next week and I really wanted to use the Fab-BOO-lous Friends stamp set.

I stamped my three ghosts onto white card stock and coloured them in with Copic markers for the green, pink and yellow of the challenge and I cut them out with my scissors. I then cut out the Thank You Circle Frame Die from white card stock and from a Starry Circle die cut that I had covered with Peacock Feathers distress ink for the aqua.

I layered the die cut pieces onto a white card stock panel that I die cut with the largest Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and adhered the whole panel to a Ripe Raspberry card base. I added a black sentiment strip with a white heat embossed sentiment and completed the card with some clear sequins.

Make sure to head over to the MFT Challenge blog to see more ideas using this color combination and to play along!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 356

Hello and welcome back. Today I have a card to share for the newest Wednesday sketch challenge at the My Favorite Things challenge blog.

For my card I flipped the sketch upside down and added a sentiment and a stamped image for the design elements and then I created a background scene using Copic markers. I have really been loving creating my own scenes around my stamped images and I"ve been learning a lot of ways to do this through online classes.

I first stamped my yeti from the Beast Friends stamp set with Cement Gray Hybrid ink and then I used my Copic markers to color him in. I decided to go with more of a gray look than white, so he would really stand out on the scene.

I created my background based off of a Sandy Allnock class called Winter Wonderland and then I stamped my sentiment onto a white card stock strip and adhered it under the yeti. I diecut the whole panel with the largest A2 Sttiched Rectnagle STAX Set 1 die-namics and I adhered it to a Grout Gray card base.

Make sure to head over to the MFT challenge blog to see some more card examples using this month's sketch and to enter your own card for a chance at a $50 GC to the MFT online store.

Snowflake Splendor Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things October card kit countdown. The new Snowflake Splendor card kit is now available in the MFT online store and tonight we're sharing more cards using this newest kit.

For my card tonight, I used the Snowflake Splendor stamp set and created an entire stamped background that I heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then added distress ink to the background to create an emboss resist behind the snowflakes.

Once the background was created I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and then I added it to a Silver Sparkle card stock mat before adding it to a white card base. I stamped the Merriest Wishes sentiment onto a white strip of card stock and created a slanted edge on one end.

I die cut the word Joy from dark blue card stock and then I adhered the stamped sentimetn strip tucked into the word. I adhered both onto the card front to complete the sentiment.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the new kit and a chance to win the giveaways. Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Snowflake Splendor Card Kit Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things October card kit countdown. For my card today I used the Layered Snowflake Die-namics to create a multi-coloured snowflakes that I adhered to a vellum window.

To create the window I diecut the white panel using the Square Peek-A-Boo Window Die-namics and then I die cut the panel with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics to give it a stitched edge. Once I completed the die cutting, I added foam adhesive to the back of the panel, added vellum directly behind the window and adhered it to a Grout Gray card base.

I created a layered snowflake with blue card stock and adhered it onto the vellum in the window using liquid adhesive. I added an aqua jewel to the center and stamped a sentiment directly under the window with Black Licorice Dye ink from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set.

Make sure to visit the MFT Blog for more ideas using this months kit. I'll be back tonight with another card for the release party.

Snowflake Splendor Card Kit Countdown

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the countdown to the MFT October card kit, Snowflake Splendor! This months kit is all about winter and snowflakes with lots of layers.

For my project today I created a trio of cards with the Layered Snowflake Die-namics from the kit and the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics and created ornaments on my cards.

The Layered Snowflakes are so fun to create with because you can layer them in so many ways. I just cut out a bunch with 3 shades of blue card stock, and then I layered them together until I was happy with them.

I created ornaments with the tag die cut from Grout Gray card stock and then added the layered snowflakes on top. I added sequins and Nuvo Drops to the centers and added a die cut bow to the top. I layered the panels onto coloured card stock and added them to white card base.

You can see how I created these cards in today's episode of MFTv.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun. :)

My Favorite Things October Release Replay

Hello and welcome back. Today the My Favorite Things design team is revisting the October release and sharing some new projects using the newest release. I decided to create another winter scene using Copic markers, a stamped image and the techniques I've been learning in online classes.

I love experimenting and creating scenes but I really want to start incorporating the scenes into card designs with stamped images. For today's card I stamped the deer image and then I created the scene around it.

I stamped the deer with Black Licorice Hybrid ink and then I left it uncoloured while I worked on the scene. I created a wintery scene with birch trees and snow and when I was done I coloured in the deer imges to complete the scene.

Once I had everything coloured I cut die cut the scene with the largest A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 die and I added a sentiment that I had stamped on an Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip banner.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the October reease. Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #353

Hello and welcome to this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I always love using an MFT sketch as a starting point on my projects... it takes a lot of the guess work out of the overall design and just let's me create.

I have been taking a lot of online Copic classes and really trying to learn how to use my markers to their full potential so I decided to create a card with a background scene created entirely with my markers. I was inspired by a card that Sandy Allnock created with an icy lake and decided to try and re-create the look on my card with the new Polar Pals stamp set.

I stamped my images onto a white piece of card stock and when I stamped the seal in the water, I removed some of the ink from the bottom of him before I stamped him so it looks like the lower half of his body is in the water. Once I had them stamped, I created the scene around them with my Copic markers and then I coloured in the seals last.

I don't love the blue colour that I used for the sky but I really like how the water in the icy lake turned out so I'm glad I tried it out. Next time I think I'll use deeper blues for the sky and make the water a little brighter.

Thanks for joining me for this week's sketch. Make sure to link up your card at the MFT challenge blog here for a chance to win a $50 GC to My Favorite Things!

My Favorite Things October Release Party!

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things October release party! Tonight we're celebrating the release of the new holiday products that we've been sharing all week - all of the new products are in the store and available for purchase! Yay!

For my card tonight I used the new Lip Balm Window & Frame Die-namics along with the previously released Essential Sentiment Rip Strip Die-namics to share how you can create a lip balm project and not have to completely take it apart to get the lip balm out.

I created a winter scene on the front of my card with the Polar Pals stamp set, the Icebergs Die-namics and a sentiment from the Sending Smooches stamp set, stamped onto a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strip banner.

I diecut the Lip Balm Window from the snow area and adhered my Lip Balm pouch inside to hold my coordinating lip balm that I made with patterned paper.

To be able top easily get the lip balm out, I used the Essential Sentiment Rip Strips Die-namics and die cut it into the front of the card base before adhering my panel. Just make sure to die cut it directly under where the lip balm window is. I created a video sharing how I created this card and you can watch it HERE if you want to see how I put the card together.

This is a great way to use the new Lip Balm products on tags and cards and ensure that the project doesn't get wrecked when you're trying to remove the lip balm. :)

I really hope you enjoyed the release projects shared this week and are excited to start holiday crafting! I would love to know what your favourite products from the release are. Happy shopping! :)

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown - Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things October release countdown. All of the new products we've been sharing this week will be available tonight at 9pm EST!

For my card today I used the Christmas Cocktails mini stamp set, which is actually a free with purchase set. It has some really fun cocktail glass images and I couldn't wait to ink it up!

I wanted to make the martini glass the focus of the card, so I stamped it onto white card stock with black ink and added a bit of colour to it with some watercolour. I stamped the sentiment from an older stamp set called Hand Lettered Holiday above the glass - I love how it looks like it's coming out of the glass with the jewel bubbles that I added.

I added the panel to some silver sparkle card stock and some Steel Grey card stock and then I added the finished panel to a Sno Cone card base. For some added interest on the card base, I stamped the same martini glass with the same ink colour for a tone-on-tone look.

Thanks so much for joining me for day 1 of the countdown. I'll see you tonight for the release party.

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things October release countdown. Today I have a couple of projects to share using products from the new release - it's another awesome day of products to share! :)

For my first card I used the new Handwritten Holiday stamp set (the sentiments in this set are gorgeous!) and I created a winter night scene to add the sentiment to.

I first stamped the deer image from the new Dashing Deer stamp set onto a panel of white card stock and then I built the scene around him using Copic markers. I have been taking a lot of online classes to improve my Copic colouring skills so I used what I've learned so far to create the night backdrop.

I created the moon first and then added the night sky around it. I then added trees and the snow detail on the ground and completed the scene by colouring in the deer and adding all of the snow detail with a white gel pen.

Once I had the scene complete, I added the sentiment right over the moon area using black ink and my Mini Misti stamping tool to ensure that I got a really bold, dark sentiment.

For my second project I used the new Cross-Stitch Tag die to create a few hand stitched tags and a card that looks like it was stitched but was actually done with pencil crayons.

These tags and card are a part of the free online release class that we offer each month so stay tuned to that tomorrow night for a full video and PDF download sharing how to create them. :)

Thank you so much for joining me for day 2 of the October release countdown. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :)

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things October release countdown. Today we're sharing projects created with the new Dashing Deer stamp set and the snow globe collection that was a part of the previous card kit.

For my cards today I used the new Dashing Deer stamp set and created two winter themed cards using the adorable deer images from this set.

For my first card, I created a winter scene using the Birch Trees dies and one of the deer images along with the cute bunny image from the stamp set.  I created the scene with an inked background, and then I added the birch trees and a snow hill that I die cut using the Stitched Snow Drift Die-namics.

For my second card, I used the other deer image and created a scene using the Starry Circle Die-namics.  I love creating a scene on a circle element.

I adhered the birch trees to the side of the scene and added the sentiment to the top right of the card stamped on a sentiment banner.

Thank you so much for joining me for day 3 of the countdown!
See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :)

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown - Day 4

Hello and welcome back! It's day 4 of the My Favorite Things October release countdown, and this is probably my favourite day! I love the new products being revealed today, and I have a few projects to share.

For my first card, I used the new Birdie Brown stamp set called Happy Pawlidays and paired it with the Warm Holiday Wishes stamp from yesterday to create a one layer card.  I wanted to make it look like the puppy was leaning against the sentiment, so I stamped him first, masked it and then stamped the sentiment over top.

I coloured the pup with Copic markers to look my puppy Molly, and I gave her a green polka dot scarf and made all of the ornaments red. I added glitter to the ornaments with a clear glitter marker and then I diecut the panel with one of the new A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX dies.

I added the stamped panel to a red card stock mat, and then I adhered the whole panel to a card base that I had covered with grey and white striped patterned paper. I am all about stripes this release LOL! :)

For my next card I used the new Lip Balm Window & Frame Die-namics, the new Lip Balm Pouches and the Free with $60 this month - Let It Snowflake Too.

I am in LOVE with the lip balm products! They make it so easy to create customized gifts. For my first project, I created a card that had a Frozen lip balm in it. I used the silver sparkle snowflakes to give it a winter feel, and I added a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set. Rather than say Let it Go, my card says Let it Snow. ;)

And for my last project today I used the new Tall Tag Duo dies along with the lip balm products to create a cute stocking stuffer.

I created a custom lip balm by adding patterned paper to it and then I created a tag that holds the lip balm. I added a sentiment from the new Sending Smooches stamp set and embellished it with a Christmas bear from the Bitty Bears stamps set.

Thank you so much for joining me for day 4 of the October release countdown! See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown - Day 5

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things October release countdown! This is my absolute favourite release month every single year. I love holiday crafting, and I am always so in love with the new products that MFT comes out with each year. This year might be my favourite EVER! :)

For my card today I used the new Polar Pals stamp set and Die-namics and created a holiday winter scene. These stamps don't have to be used for holiday cards, but I really wanted to Christmas it up LOL!

I stamped my seal and tree (coming in another stamp set soon!) onto white card stock and coloured them both in with Copic markers. I diecut the seal with the coordinating die and hand cut the tree, so it didn't have the white border.

I created the winter scene for my images with some distress inks and card stock panels diecut with the new A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I LOVE these dies and will never put them down haha!

I added the panels to a card base covered with a red and white striped patterned paper from the Birthday Blowout paper pad, and I added a sentiment that I stamped from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set. I finished the card with Ice Cube Jewels on the tree and a star embellishment I had in my stash.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the countdown. Make sure to visit the MFT blog for more ideas and more peeks at the new products!

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!
